DESCRIPTION:This event is cancelled! \n \nThis training\, organised by N
 CC France and NCC Belgium\, aims to introduce participants to the fundamen
 tal concepts of quantum computing and to provide a first practical experie
 nce with quantum programming. The programme includes:\n \nShort state of 
 the art – “A Quantum of Quantum Computing”\n\n\nWhat is quantum comp
 uting?\n\n\nA brief historical overview\n\n\nQuantum states\n\n\nQubits\, 
 superposition\, entanglement\, measurement and decoherence\n\n\nComputing 
 with qubits\n\n\n \nIntroduction to quantum computing\n\n\nRefresher on t
 he fundamentals of quantum mechanics\n\n\nQuantum versus classical computi
 ng\n\n\nQuantum gates: theory and practical aspects\n\n\nHands-on session:
  participants will code their first quantum program (EPR pair) and explore
  additional examples.\n\n\n \nA short reception will be held on the 29th
  in the evening to encourage informal discussion with the speakers and bet
 ween participants.\n \nThe training is primarily intended for PhD studen
 ts\, researchers and engineers in chemistry\, physics\, and computer scie
 nce who wish to develop or strengthen their knowledge in quantum technolog
 ies. It will also provide an opportunity to interact with experts and enga
 ge with the French-Belgian quantum and high-performance computing ecosyste
 m.\n \nRequirements: Basic knowledge of Python and notions of linear alge
 bra. Participants must bring their own laptops.\n \nThis training is orga
 nised with the support of the Vlaams supercomputercentrum (VSC) and the 
 Consortium des Équipements de Calcul Intensif (CÉCI).\n \nNo-show polic
 y: This event is not held online. There is no travel grant or accommodatio
 n provided for this event. Cancellation possible via email until April 24t
